Ireland on a budget

River Liffey, Dublin
I have wanted to go to Ireland ever since I saw P.S. I Love You; falling in love with the movie, Gerard Butler and of course Ireland! Though I had been planning the trip ever since I was about to go to the UK, it finally happened last October. I travelled solo and absolutely loved it! Even though I have been on day trips by myself before, this was my first solo trip-trip and it was to Ireland! :D It was an awesome experience where I met many other solo travellers from around the world and experienced living in hostels. In the four days that I was there, I visited - Dublin, Limerick - Cliffs of Moher - Doolin - Kinvara (day trip), Carrickfergus - Carrickarede - Bushmills - Giant's Causeway (day trip) and Belfast.

Malaysia Truly Asia

Rightly described as 'Truly Asia' Malaysia offers a uniquely asian experience being a melting pot of various different asian cultures. Malaysia has always been on my list of places to visit and if I were to write about the 5 things I would want to experience in Malaysia, they would certainly be:

1.       Bungee Jump from the Petronas Twin Towers
2.       Try Dive at Sipadan Island
3.       Visit the world’s largest cave chamber at Mulu National Park
4.       Spend a day at Genting Highlands
5.       Attend the Rainforest World Music Festival at Sarawak Cultural Village

Picnicking

Now that the lovely English summer has become a thing of the past (as it is already getting cold now) I miss the warm sunny days already (it was just last week that I wore sun dresses to work!)

When the sun shines bright, you just want to be out there and make the most of it. Summers (especially English summers) bring out the fun loving picnic goer in most of us.

So here is what I did this summer.

Poha is flattened dehusked rice. It is easy to cook and makes delicious breakfast.

Oats Upma

Upma is usually made with semolina (sooji) but as I did not have any, I made oats upma which is a healthier option. I wanted to have something healthy for breakfast today other than cereal and had got a packet oats just the other day. So oats upma it was!

Stuffed Mushroom with Cottage Cheese

Me and my sister totally loved this mushroom appetiser served at a particular restaurant in Mumbai. But sadly enough the restaurant discontinued serving it. I came across this recipe in a magazine and thought of trying it out. I was pleasantly surprise when it turned out to be pretty close and now every time I make it, I have something to make my sister jealous! :p
