2. Try Dive at Sipadan Island

5. Attend the Rainforest World Music Festival at Sarawak Cultural Village
The Petronas Twin
Towers are the national identity of Malaysia and stand tall at a height of 451.9m
above street level, thus being the world's tallest twin structure and fifth
tallest skyscraper. In one of my
previous posts ‘The adventurous side of ME’ I have mentioned my to-do list and Bungee jumping has been on it since
a long time now. I have seen videos of people jumping off the twin towers and
have been nothing but mesmerized! Now that I think of it, being a thrill seeker
I cannot wait to experience it.
Sipadan Island has been rated as one of the world’s best diving sites. As per the Malaysia Tourism website, ‘the island boasts a truly magical and breathtaking underwater experience.’ There are several exciting dive spots in the area and one of its most thrilling features is the Drop Off, where knee-high water suddenly gives way to a 600m drop. Being a complete water baby I absolutely love beaches and have scuba diving on my to-do list as well. I cannot think of a better place to get introduced to the sport!
Mulu National Park
is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses a remarkable collection of natural
treasures including the Sarawak Chamber, which is the world's largest cave
chamber. It is so huge that it can accommodate as many as 40 Boeing 747
aircrafts! (Well, now that’s HUGE!) I have been to caves in Cherapunji and
Ha Long bay before but a cave this size is a true natural wonder and one that is
definitely not to be missed!
Genting Highlands
is one place I have wanted to visit ever since I was a child and remember
looking at the glossy images of various rides in travel brochures in awe. I am
a big fan of theme parks and rides! Unfortunately the outdoor theme park is
currently closed as they are constructing the world’s first Twentieth Century
Fox theme park in its place (which sounds even more exciting! :D) but other
rides and attractions are still open as usual. It is a popular hill resort located
at the top of Ulu Kali Mountain. It is just an hour’s drive away from the busy
capital - Kuala Lumpur and houses a wide range of entertainment, dining and
retail options making it just the perfect weekend getaway. There is something for everyone here from
theme parks to casinos.
Sarawak cultural village hosts the Rainforest World Music Festival and is one of the top 10 scenic outdoor venues. The festival has an
impressive line-up of renowned international artists and has also been voted
for the fourth consecutive year, as one of the ‘25 Best International
Festivals’ by renowned world music magazine, Songlines. The village itself is an
award winning live museum which displays the rich cultural heritage of the area
and also has a cultural performance twice a day. This village also hosts the
World Harvest Festival.
So here it is! These are the things I would do if I had to
choose only 5 things I would like to experience in Malaysia.
I am participating in the MalaysiaJao Blogathon Contest in association with BlogAdda.com.
