The adventurous side of ME!!

The first time I did something adventurous (that I remember of) was when I was 3 and highly inspired by The Jungle Book. I tried to jump from one sofa to another like Bageera the panther but unfortunately landed on the corner table almost breaking my head. I still have a mark on my forehead reminding me about this incident.

Colours of Kumbhalgarh

Whenever I think about Rajasthan, the first word that pops into my mind is 'vibrance' because Rajasthan is just so vibrant. The men in colourful Safas with curled moustaches, women wearing ghagra cholis hiding in ghoongats, the culture, folk arts, music, dance just everything is go intriguing. This time I got a chance to visit Kumbhalgarh in Rajasthan thanks to Club Mahindra Holidays for having their resort there.

All's in the blood

Do you know from where do I get my passion for travelling? Well...I get it from my grandmother i.e my dad's mom, my ajji who is an avid traveller. She is very enthusiastic about travelling even at the age of 69 and takes at least two trips every year. She has seen a substantial part of the world and always brings back souvenirs and coins for me (I guess she secretly favorites me as most of the stuff she gets back is for me :D) She always travels with her fellow senior citizens or with conducted tours.

Picturesque Yercaud

This summer I took a trip to Yercaud with my family. We took a flight to Coimbatore and after the pleasant flight, Coimbatore felt like stepping into an oven!! But the climate became better by evening. We took the local state transport bus to Salem from the central bus stand as I always make it a point to experience the local means of transport. The frequency and network of these buses is pretty good and they are DVD coaches. The bus dropped us at Salem after a 4 hour journey which was spent in watching Tamil films and videos of Rajnikant's songs. After having dinner in Salem we took a cab to Yercaud. On the way up to Yercaud there are 20 hair-pin bends and by the time we reached it was pretty late.

Wai: the perfect village

Situated in the Satara district of maharashtra, on the way to Panchagani is a small town of Wai, famous for its Ganpati temple. It is a small town that attracts a lot of worshipers of Lord Ganesh. The Lord Ganesh temple is located on the banks of the Krishna river and is considered as jagrut as the Siddhivinayak in Mumbai. I remember the mute boy outside the temple minding footwear while writing this and somehow I cannot get him out of my mind.

Hyderabad

I recently visited Hyderabad on a college trip where we had loads and loads of fun. After an 18 hour long train journey we reached the city of pearls at the break of dawn. As the train entered the city we saw the Hussein Sagar lake all illuminated, welcoming us warmly. After checking into the hotel, having a wholesome breakfast and getting ready we headed towards the Birla museum where we saw everything from dinosaur fossils to ancient sculptures to complex machines. From there we went to the Birla temple which is made of white marble and has a wonderful view from the top. But my poor camera could not capture it because it was not allowed inside. In the evening we went for the Golconda sound and light show. Here the fort comes to life and narrates its story in sound and light which is beautiful.

Mauritius

I went to Mauritius on a family vacation and though it was a year back, I still remember it like yesterday. This country is so breathtakingly beautiful and the sun-kissed beaches are amazingly clean. Though my flight was delayed by almost 10 hours which meant I had to spend a sleepless night on the airport was not at all a good start. But all my weariness was gone as I landed on the Mauritian soil with the breathtaking views all my way to the hotel (although after checking into my hotel I slept for the whole day).

Rund um die Welt

I chose to write a travel blog because I am very fond of travelling and would not have got a better platform to share my experiences with others who have similar interests. I enjoy travelling since I was a kid and have always liked exploring new places, new cultures and meeting new people. My ultimate dream is to travel around the world and I won't rest in my grave until I have seen it all because I am a crazy happie wanderer and proud to be one!!
