Happy New Year!!

Christmas in UK is beautiful and the decoration starts as early as October. In Leeds the Christmas lights were officially switched on in November itself and there was a German market that went on for a month housing fun rides, food and various other stalls.

This year I had a lazy Christmas in London because the public transport is shut on that day, so could not really get out. But the rest was much needed for the next day, i.e Boxing Day when all stores have their biggest sales. As we reached Oxford street, almost mid-morning it was already crowded with people queueing up to enter the bigger stores. After getting into stores, it took ages to reach the billing counters, but the wait was totally worth the stuff we got, more so the prices we got it for :P.

On New Year's Eve we went to watch the fireworks at London Eye and got the best view being first timers. Camping on the streets for more than 5 hours to see 15 minutes of fireworks was not exactly worth the effort, but some experience and definitely something I will remember for life.

So here's wishing everyone a very Happy (belated) New Year!! :)
