Poha

Poha is flattened dehusked rice. It is easy to cook and makes delicious breakfast.



Ingredients:
1 bowl medium Poha
Handful peanuts
1 potato, boiled and chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 chilies, split
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder 
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves, chopped
1 tsp lime juice

Method:
1. Wash poha and set aside. Dry roast peanuts and set aside.
2. In a pan add oil, once warm add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and chilies. Saute onion and, once the onion is translucent add turmeric, roasted peanuts, potatoes, poha and mix well.
3. Add lime juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.


Poha chiwda is savory dry Indian snack and is perfect for munching. 


Ingredients:
2 bowls thin Poha
Handful peanuts
4 chilies, split
2 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder 
Curry leaves

Method:
1. Dry roast poha and peanuts separately. Set aside.
2. In a pan add oil, once warm add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and chilies. Once the seeds start to splutter, add turmeric, poha and mix well.
3. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.
